- We found no official priority or fast-track service for student visas on the German Embassy Islamabad pages we checked. The embassy only says applications are worked on in the order they are received.
After a refusal: no remonstration
- Remonstration until 30 June 2025
Up to 30th June 2025, the Federal Foreign Office has provided a voluntary objection procedure for an initial refusal letter.

Frequently asked questions
How do I apply for a German student visa from Pakistan?
Through the Federal Foreign Office's Consular Services Portal. You answer a questionnaire, upload your documents, a visa officer screens them, and you either get an appointment notification or a request for more documents.
Embassy Islamabad or Consulate Karachi?
Islamabad is for applicants from Islamabad Capital Territory, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. Applicants from Sindh and Balochistan apply through the Karachi portal.
How much is the German student visa fee in Pakistan?
€75 for a long-term (category D) visa, due in PKR at the current exchange rate and paid in cash at the counter.
Is there a priority or fast-track student visa?
Not that we could find. The embassy says applications are processed in the order they are received; a letter accepting late arrival or an enrolment letter for the next semester can help.
Can I appeal (remonstrate) a visa refusal?
Not through remonstration. The embassy states that from 1 July 2025 the remonstration procedure (the voluntary objection to a refusal) for visa rejections is cancelled indefinitely.
How long does the student visa take?
